Telescopic funnel

A telescopic funnel is a retractable exhaust funnel that can be lowered if needed, for instance when the ship is navigating below low bridges.

Our team has experience of designing these funnels for cruise ships. In our most recent project, we undertook comprehensive design work, including the design of elevator systems, retractable and fixed pipes, and the overall structure of the funnel. Our work involved modelling, strength calculations, and vibration analysis to ensure the funnel’s reliability and performance. We also provided drawings for production and installation and assisted with transportation and lifting planning.

We have also worked on projects involving existing telescopic funnel designs that required modifications for new ships. Our work has included redesigning the exhaust gas pipes to accommodate changes in diameters, as well as optimizing the overall structure to enhance the existing design.
